Jerome Lordan’s family on his maternal side (Dempsey) have lived at the Old Head for at least 250 years. Fisherman, Walker and passionate Historian. Jerome shines when guiding in his native place. After many years providing cruises in Kinsale Harbour, Jerome has come ashore to share his love of history. His walking tours are deeply rooted in his personal connection to the area as a fisherman and lifelong resident, blending maritime knowledge with local heritage.
With an ongoing study in Genealogy, he has a B.A in Archaeology, an M.A. in Local History (UCC) and his work is inspired by his deep love of place and his knowledge of local topography, folklore and traditions. "In September 2025, we were in Ireland hiking and investigating our roots. The highlight of our trip was when we encountered Jerome Lordan in Kinsale. He has exceptional knowledge of the region—its geography, its culture, and, most importantly for us, its genealogy. He graciously shared his time and expertise, and we were delighted with our experience with him"

" With Jerome Lordan as a guide, you will delve deep into so many more aspects of the land’s rich cultural heritage. His decades of experience as a local fisherman and a couple of decades as a tour guide owner of the Kinsale Harbour Cruise has informed his wealth of seafaring knowledge in this locality where he was born and bred."
